BMW’s sleek 6-Series Convertible (F12) is a veritable dream car, especially in its M6 form with 560 or 600 hp. This flagship open BMW is the basis for the latest creation from G-POWER.
With 34 years of experience behind, G-POWER increased the output of the 4.4 litre TwinPower Turbo BMW M V8 motor from 560 hp to 800 hp, with torque up from 680 Nm to a stump pulling 1,050 Nm.
With this output figures the G-POWER M6 Convertible is on the same level as the legendary G-POWER M5 HURRICANE RR with Bi-Kompressor system which still owns the world record for the fastest sedan in the world with a top speed of 372,1 km/h.
After the G-POWER treatment, the M6 Convertible is producing 800 hp, with 1,050 Nm of torque, more than sufficient to confirm the G-POWER M6 as one of the fastest, four-seat convertibles in the world.
The test instruments recorded a 0-200 km/h time of 9.8 seconds on the way to a top speed of 330 km/h, yet again confirming G-POWER’s place as a member of the small group of respected tuners holding third-party authenticated speed records.
G-POWER once more is among the first tuners who lay their hands on a limited edition high-end sports model from BMW – like it was the case regarding the predecessor M3 GTS six years ago.
Already when coming from the factory the BMW M4 GTS has been equipped with all the necessary parts that are essential for a sports car without compromises: front spoiler, rear wing, bucket seats and a roll cage - everything’s on board. But is this enough to be perfect?
With more than 35 years of experience tuning BMW cars, particularly the M models, G-POWER recognised the new M4 GTS as the perfect machine to make full use of the extra potential unlocked by the Bi-Tronik 2 V3 ECU upgrade.
As the target of over 615 hp was beyond the headroom of the standard turbochargers airflow, G-POWER undertake significant internal modifications to the turbine wheel and housing, and also reduce backpressure with their in-house stainless steel downpipes without catalysts.
The fuel, spark and boost curves of the Bi-Tronik 2 V3 are custom mapped to make full use of the hardware upgrades, boosting output of the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight six from 500 hp to a whopping 615 hp, with peak torque climbing from 600 to 760 Nm. Using Launch Control, the G-POWER M4 GTS blasts to 100km/h in just 3.6 seconds, while deletion of its electronic speed limiter allows the car to exceed 320 km/h. Now teh M4 GTS is indeed the perfect sports car!
From first concept through design, technical development to manufacturing at an OEM level, G-POWER’s various departments handle all the tasks required to turn a customer’s dream into reality. With a BMW M6 E63 as the base car, G-POWER set about the comprehensive modification, optimisation and refinement of virtually all core areas of the car, meaning bodywork, engine, chassis and interior.
The G-POWER 5.0L V10 engine delivers the punch promised by the aggressive external appearance. The headline numbers of 1001 hp / 736 kW and 900 Nm of torque ensure that the G6M V10 HURRICANE CS is actually as fast as it looks. With an optional taller final drive, it can achieve a top speed of 372 km/h.
G-POWER improves own record for the world’s fastest BMW M3 V8 with a top speed of 337,6 km/h.
